Introducing the Global Games Alliance (GGA).
There’s a new podcast every month. A new event every week. Another funding source, awards show, job board, Discord, accelerator, incubator… and somehow you’re meant to keep up with all of it while actually building a game?
I go to events all year long and still struggle to keep up. So imagine what developers miss if they’re not even in the room.
It’s too much. That’s why we built the Global Games Alliance (GGA).
GGA is a practical, curated resource hub created by MLC Studio. You get access to perks you won’t find anywhere else, expert-written guides, a weekly newsletter (that summarises all the others), and a lot more – all completely free (exploring paid tiers later if it makes sense).
We’ve been helping developers quietly, behind paywalls, for years. Now we’re opening up our network and resources to the whole industry, no strings attached.
Why GGA Exists
The games industry is full of amazing resources to support game developers, but they’re spread across a hundred platforms, newsletters, events, and Discords.
There’s no central place to keep up. One week you miss a funding deadline. The next, you find out too late that a perfect-for-you accelerator closed applications two days ago. Or that there was a grant you qualified for… but no one was shouting about it.
It’s chaotic. And the people who need them most are the ones most likely to miss out.
The Global Games Alliance brings everything together. The key info, opportunities, deals, and resources – curated, clear, and actually useful.
That said, we’re not pretending we’ve solved everything from day one. You won’t find every resource here yet. But we’re building a model that’ll let us do that by bringing in dedicated curators, supporting the community to contribute, and investing real money from MLC to make it happen.
This is just the start.
What You Get with GGA
The Global Games Alliance is made up of four core parts (at the moment).
1. Perk Club
This is a flagship feature. The Perk Club gives you access to exclusive deals and discounts from top industry tools and service providers – the kind of stuff usually hidden behind engaging with these companies or intros. It’s instantly useful whether you’re running a studio or just getting started. So far, we have more than $10,000 worth of perks.
2. Resources & Guides
We’re curating the best of what’s already out there – including a massive 250+ publisher and investor list by Seyed – plus bringing forward hidden gems from our network that you probably haven’t seen but need to. These will be sharp, no-fluff, and useful. I personally find resources that are too sales-focused rather than value-focused quite irritating, so none of that.
3. Direct to Inbox (Coming Soon)
A weekly newsletter that rounds up funding calls, open awards, upcoming events, jobs, and more – no waffle, just what matters. It’s like having someone in your corner who actually reads everything and passes you just the good bits. We’re exploring how you might be able to control what news you are after and at what frequency to have a general industry-tailored newsletter specific to you.
4. Premium Community (Coming Soon)
We’re building a members-only Discord. There are tonnes out there available for everyone in the industry, we’re looking to build something premium, which will remain fairly exclusive. Not because we’re cliquey, but we feel that’s the one type of Discord server missing in a sea of servers.
Who GGA Is For
GGA is for anyone feeling overwhelmed by the pace of the industry or unsure where to turn next.
- You’re running a studio and just got funding – now you’re scaling and need support.
- You’re thinking about starting your own studio but don’t know where to begin.
- You’re already deep in development and tired of missing opportunities.
- You’re freelance or between jobs and looking for real leads, not LinkedIn noise.
- You want a clearer path through the chaos – and you want it from people who’ve been there.
- You’re looking for funding/publishers/investors.
If any of that sounds like you, you’re in the right place.
How is this free?
After going to events around the world, the MLC Studio team and I have built up a great network of friends who run great service businesses and tools. These relationships led us to build an internal partner network at MLC that was accessible only to our clients. It was only a matter of time for us to realise there is no benefit for anyone to have that locked away. So we opened it up!
I’d like to shout out the amazing founding partners who are helping to bring this initiative to life:
And all those taking part in the Perk Club including PlayMakers, Snappy Gurus, Tiny Brains, Emerge QA, Big Thursday Creative, Metaplay, Sponge Hammer, GG Insurance, CDR, Cheekbone, Jon Torrens and Motif.
Interested in becoming a partner (have to be a service provider or tool, something to offer to members)? Email hello@mlc.studio.
Here are some ways we’re hoping to fund the Global Games Alliance:
- Sponsorship – there is plenty of opportunity for businesses to sponsor the platform to boost their perk in the Perk Club or be included in communication somewhere. It’s important this remains valuable to the community, but a balance isn’t hard to strike when approached with the right values.
- Commission – Although we’re keeping this light touch for now, we are exploring how we could generate commission through affiliate links. This means we’d generate revenue from the perks you find most useful.
- Membership – We may introduce paid tiers later in our roadmap to give you access to perks that our partners can’t offer at high volume, such as a 1-hour call with a lawyer.
What’s Next?
We’re letting people in gradually, starting with early access through the waitlist – now live! If you want to get in sooner, you’ll get a referral link once you sign up – invite a few friends and you’ll jump the queue.
This is happening right now. We’re already negotiating deals, curating resources and investing our own time and money at MLC Studio to build something that lasts. The more support you give – whether that’s sharing the link, following us on LinkedIn, X or Bluesky, or just signing up, the more firepower we have to genuinely unlock better perks and bring everything together faster.
And if you need a partner to bring your game to market with damn good art, from a studio that gives a sh*t – email hello@mlc.studio and tell us what you’ve got going on. We’d love to help.
