The Goal & The Outcome
SYBO and Outplay Entertainment partnered with MLC Studio on their newest entry in the renowned Subway Surfers franchise. They needed a trusted partner to create highly stylised animations bursting with energy and personality – the kind of work that keeps a global hit franchise fresh for millions of players.
With our proven track record in character-focused art and animation, MLC Studio was a natural fit. We brought the technical expertise and creativity needed to elevate Subway Surfers Blast, ensuring every animation carried the trademark vibrancy and playful spirit fans expect!

Risk Elimination
To capture the signature Subway Surfers style, MLC Studio analysed the existing animations frame by frame – studying how far exaggeration could be pushed without breaking consistency. At the same time, the project came with a tight turnaround, so our team had to balance speed with precision to ensure the animations felt instantly at home in the franchise while delivering fresh energy for Subway Surfers Blast.
Process
How We Delivered
Outplay Entertainment provided a detailed brief outlining each animation’s purpose and the expressive, character-driven style they wanted to capture. To deliver on that vision, MLC Studio began by blocking out key poses in Blender and refining in-betweens to establish clarity and rhythm.
From there, our animators focused on the details to nail every move:
Arc tracking: Ensuring Jake’s breakdance moves followed clean, readable paths so the energy felt sharp but never chaotic.
Overlap and settle: Adding weight and timing adjustments so movements eased in and out naturally.
Secondary motion: With limited loose clothing or hair to work with, we created organic drag in the chest and spine, mirroring the legs’ follow-through to keep Jake’s movement fluid and reactive.
Once the first polished animation was approved, the team moved quickly through the rest of the set, maintaining close collaboration with Outplay to refine every detail. Final game-ready FBX files were delivered fully optimised for smooth import, ensuring the animations slotted seamlessly into Subway Surfers Blast.
