MLC Yearly Review 2022

As we approach the end of the year, we want to shout a huge THANK YOU to all of our new clients, existing clients and partners who have made our 2022 the most special year for us to date.

We have had quite the year of growth filled with exciting projects, incredible events and awesome people.

And of course, kudos to our phenomenal team for absolutely smashing it this year.

Here’s some of our highlights:

Team Expansion

We have been joined by more than 100 new faces in 2022. We’ve been working hard to bring on incredible talent, including (but certainly not limited to) more level designers, animators, VFX artists and concept artists. We’re proud to be able to offer an ever-expanding number of creative services by continuously hiring top talent who have all slotted into our MLC family just perfectly, and of course paired with incredible feedback from our awesome clients.

MLC Union 2022

mlc union 2022

Our team travelled from all over to Devon, UK to the beautiful venue of Selgar’s Mill, for our fantastic annual MLC Union event. At least 22 of the MLC team were able to attend for a few days of great company, food, games, workshops, and not forgetting an epic Mario Kart tournament. Meeting IRL is super special as the majority of us work remotely together daily, all year round.

Partnerships

Partnering with IGDA, Ukie and Safe in our World have been an incredibly positive move for MLC. From invaluable mental health resources and courses readily accessible for our whole team, to event opportunities, to overall brining much needed awareness to the industry. We appreciate the hard work these companies do which create impactful spaces and openings not just for MLC but for other companies too. Not to mention the lovely people we’ve met along the way. We’re excited to see what these partnerships bring in 2023.

Our Community and Events

mlc community

2022 has been the year we decided, after plenty of discussion and requests, to finally create our MLC Discord community! Many of you reading will be part of our Discord Community and perhaps attended at least one of our events. Thank you, if that’s you! We wanted a space where the games industry can unite under one roof professionally to discuss, develop and grow. We feel our community is already well on its way to encompassing this. Big plans are underway for 2023 to help enhance our Discord and make it the best and inclusive space for professional game developers. Thanks to all our event guest speakers, active community members and event attendees – we will continue to host these monthly events to highlight interesting and important topics within game development/the games industry.

Please let us know if you are interested in speaking at one of our events next year. Join our community here.

Special thanks to the following incredible people/companies for always advocating us, supporting us, and for being all-round awesome:

Snappy Gurus, Gary Marshall (Wired Productions), Elaine Dowman (Barclays Games), Stuart De Ville (Game Dev London), Fireshine Games and Firesquid.

A note from MLC’s Studio Director.
