Aether Games

We thoroughly enjoyed first creating a style guide and then a variety of environment and character concepts for Aether Game’s latest game, My Café. The game is Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley inspired, built for the Roblox platform centred around a small town and the player’s newly built café. The game is a near-sandbox where people can modify and mutilate their town and café as they see fit.

The Brief

Aether Games reached out initially wanting help with art direction, concepts, characters and environment layout and eventually 3D elements. Their game’s theme is painterly, pastel, and lively, with every part of the world bursting with wildlife, people, and residences of a fantasy 1900s countryside, and so they wanted the artwork produced to be in keeping with that.

The Process
