We created two large magical backgrounds for Reclamation by Hat Hair Games, a claymation (yes, using real clay!) Metroidvania game. The backgrounds make such a difference to the aesthetic and gameplay experience, we love the depth they bring!

The Brief

MLC had to create backgrounds that would mix well with the claymation textures. The blue tones we chose for the backgrounds complement the clay tones well, and add to the depth of the environment. Layering the background helps to further create depth and achieve the look our client was aiming for.
